Why We Like to Top Dress Our Garden

Whether you’ve added an Amendment Blend to your soil or not, top dressing is an excellent addition to any cultivation plan. These top dresses work to provide your plant with both quick and slow release macro and micro nutrients. We recommend using these top dresses in addition to any of our Soilscape Solutions Feed Chart plans.

Vegetative Top Dress

• About – Vegetative Top Dress is designed to be used with cannabis plants ranging in size from 6” to 12’”. From seedlings still in the rearing stage to full grown plants in the early/mid summer. Our Vegetative Top Dress is formulated to provide the correct balances of N-P-K-Ca-Mg, trace minerals, humic/fulvic and is loaded with beneficial biology to ensure the proper rates of solubility. Vegetative Top Dress provides exceptional, explosive and lush green vegetative growth with a sustained release of nutrients for approximately 21 to 30 days depending on application rates.
• Inputs – Alfalfa Meal, Blood Meal, Nitrogen Bat Guano, Gypsum, Volcanic Ash, Fish Meal, and Insect Frass
• Application – Apply to established plants as needed during vegetative growth. Can be applied to plants any stage of growth, from teens to large full term plants still in a vegetative state. Scratch into the top 1-2 inches of soil. After adding in your Vegetative Top Dress, water in with the VTD Activation Package. Apply at 1.5 – 3 lbs per yard of soil. (1 yd = 200 gallons of volume)

  • Tainio Spectrum NFB – 0.15 grams per gallon – Biogenesis Non-Polymer, biological plant enzymes/root dip/soil/seed transplant inoculant. Biogenesis Non-Polymer contains beneficial microorganisms and humectants (preserves moisture). It helps establish beneficial microbial populations needed for balanced soil biology, improving soil health, making essential nutrients available to plants and promoting plant growth.
  • Tainio Spectrum + Myco – 0.1 grams per gallon – Spectrum + Myco™ is a multiple species blend of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) and other beneficial plant growth promoting microorganisms (PGPs). These plant growth promoting microorganisms produce organic acids and amino acids to chelate vital mineral nutrients such as phosphorus, nitrogen, calcium, iron, and more. With the help of the Mycorrhizae, these fungi receive sugars from the plant, and in return, aid the plant in the uptake of water and nutrients in the soil.
  • Pacific Grow Oceanic Hydrolysate – 10 mL per gallon – Pacific Gro is a highly bio-active liquid fertilizer derived from fish, micronized shrimp and crab caught in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Washington and Oregon. This product is produced by cold-process enzymatic digestion – no fish oil removed, no heat applied, no enzymes added. It provides plant-available calcium, fish oil, marine nutrients and enzymes. Stimulating soil microbiology, especially beneficial fungi.
  • Rhizoscape Rhizothrive BioStimulant – 5 mL per gallon – Rhizoscape Rhizothrive is a soil bio-stimulant, formulated from stable humic substances, complex carbohydrates and seawater minerals. These components help support microbial populations and allow plants to thrive.
  • Southern Organics Liquid Yucca– 2 mL per gallon – Liquid Yucca is an excellent source of natural plant sugars, as well as plant soaps (saponins). The saponins in Liquid Yucca actually make water wetter, breaking the polarity of the water molecule, and the plant sugars provide usable energy to plants and microbes. Also a great additive for any regular foliar applications like Phylloscape Foliar Fertilizer.
  • Dirt M.D. – 2.5 mL per gallon – Dirt M.D. major components are humic (4.5% by volume) and fulvic acids (2.3% by volume). Both of these organic compounds have a large concentration of binding sites that allow them to act like sponges. These complexes breakdown over time with microbial activity allowing for slow-release of nutrients. Dirt M.D. is produced from the best freshwater based humate sources in India.
  • Pepzyme Clear – 1 mL per gallon – Pepzyme Clear™ is a high quality, stable liquid enzyme biostimulator. Pepzyme Clear™ stimulates the metabolism of plant growth, promoting microorganisms to break down organic matter and make soil nutrients such as phosphorus, nitrogen, calcium, iron, and more, available to plants in the forms they can absorb.
  • Application – Apply mixed into solution to achieve desired soil saturation rate and apply anytime you’re adding Vegetative Top Dress.

Bloom Top Dress

• About – Bloom Top Dress is designed to provide the correct nutritional balance during the flowering cycle. When applied during early flowering prior to onset, the Bloom Top Dress releases water soluble nutrients that are immediately acting as an early bud set or “transitional” nutrient. This bio available and slower release of nutrient provides the correct amount of stimulation for productive, aromatic and wonderfully glistening flowers.
• Inputs – Phosphorus Bat Guano, Nitrogen Bat Guano, Fish Bone Meal, Gypsum, Volcanic Ash, Fish Meal, and Insect Frass
• Application – Apply one time at the beginning of the flowering cycle for indoor and light deprivation cannabis. Bloom Top Dress can be applied between dep runs to supplement additional available Nitrogen and Phosphorus. Apply two times, two weeks apart for full season, natural photoperiod grown plants. Scratch into the top 1-2 inches of soil. After adding in your Bloom Top Dress, water in with the BTD Activation Package. Apply at either once at 4 lbs or twice at 2 lbs per yard of soil. (1 yd = 200 gallons of volume)
